Tinea is a fungal infection that causes small spots and patches on your skin. It occurs due to yeast that is naturally present on your skin. When the yeast grows it appears as a rash.
In this condition, you may notice patches which are white, pink, red or brown or it may be lighter or darker than the skin around it. It may occur anywhere on your body but can be mostly seen around your neck, chest, back, and underarm areas.
It may also occur as a dry and scaly patch which may itch or hurt. This condition may disappear when the weather is cold and it can worsen during warm and humid weather. It can be treated with oral and topical medications.
